Elena Fortes
Creative producer and cultural strategist with 15+ years experience in the film industry. Co-founder and director of the Ambulante Film Festival (2005-2006), co-conspirator at No Ficción (A Cop Movie, Midnight Family), and founder of Fiasco, creative studio focused on film production and publicity. In 2024, she founded FIASCO, a creative studio devoted to developing projects across diverse artistic practices that uphold the free, serendipitous, and collaborative nature of filmmaking, with a focus on nurturing new talent, producing and distributing independent cinema, and crafting communication strategies and campaigns for films. She has been a fellow of the Sundance Institute and Doc Society, and is a member of several international organizations, including the Global Impact Producers Alliance (GIPA), Documentary Producers Alliance (DPA), International Documentary Association (IDA), Brown Girls Doc Mafia (BGDM), the Mexican Academy of Cinematographic Arts and Sciences (AMACC), the European Film Academy (EFA), and the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS). She currently serves as Vice President of the Mexican Association of Independent Producers (AMPI) and Women in Film and Television (MCyTV) in Mexico.
