Film and concerts with Den Sorte Skole, Ganger and Pavement tribute band

Audiovisual live experience and album release with the Danish cult duo Den Sorte Skole, film and intimate concert with Ganger lead singer Thomas Bach and Pavement tribute with brand new Alex Ross Perry doc followed by a tribute concert to the slacker kings of the 90s. We're teasing our big music program with early ticketing for three unique events!

From March 19 to 30, 2025, we will once again fill Copenhagen with more than 200 documentaries, talks, debates, art exhibitions and much more. Today we proudly present the first film concerts at this year’s festival.

We round off this year’s festival at Bremen Theater with an exclusive, audiovisual live performance of Den Sorte Skole’s new concert film and album ‘Ghosts & Robots’. Actually twice, as there are concerts at both 17:30 and 20:30. Before the concerts, there will be a conversation with Den Sorte Skole about the creation of the work.

For 10 years, Den Sorte Skole has performed symphonies and audiovisual works in spectacular settings all over the world. From Power Square in Beijing, China and Jaisalmer Fort in Rajasthan, India, to cathedrals and churches across Europe and Roskilde Festival’s Orange Stage. Documentary filmmaker Simon Weyhe has followed Den Sorte Skole with his camera on their journey, and tonight you’ll get up close and personal with the cult duo and their wild projects.

Ganger – film, talk, mini concert & after party

Join us for the world premiere of ‘The Sound of Love Letters’, a movie about Ganger lead singer Thomas Bach and his complex family history. Afterwards there will be a Q&A, a small acoustic performance and a DJ afterparty from Ganger!

His parents divorced when the lead singer of the popular Danish art pop band Ganger was very young, and he can only remember the conflicts of his childhood. But when his father is dying, Thomas Bach returns to windswept Thy to look after him. His father hands him a stack of love letters from when his parents were young and in love and asks him to read them after his death. With the pile of heated love letters in hand, Thomas begins to write Gangers’ third album – a record that might also reconcile him with the mother he hasn’t had contact with in years.

‘The Sound of Love Letters’ is a music film out of the ordinary – which is why the film’s world premiere in Bremen Theater should be celebrated in style. We’ll do so with a conversation with Thomas Bach, director Tammes Bernstein, a small acoustic performance from Thomas, Mille and Ninna from Ganger, followed by a trip to the neighboring bar Kolme, where the band will DJ and celebrate the premiere with the audience!

Pavement tribute – portrait film and concert

          ‘Pavements’. Photo: Utopia.

We pay tribute to slacker heroes Pavement with a screening of Alex Ross Perry’s creative and kaleidoscopic film ‘Pavements’ about the band with as many layers as there are grooves in a record. Afterwards, we’ve put together a once in a lifetime Pavement tribute band with six musicians who normally play in Barbro, School of X, Snuggle, A Good Year, Baby in Vain, Liss, MØ and Soleima!

Were you one of those people who hung out at the ‘Alternative/Indie’ shelf in record stores back in the 90s? Then Pavement probably needs no introduction. And now the American slacker heroes have a movie that’s so Pavement-like you’ll think it’s a lie. And it kind of is – sometimes! The story of the alternative rock heroes is told by the always original director Alex Ross Perry as a kaleidoscopic collage of references to films, music and alternative pop culture. An entertaining and unpredictable movie for both hardcore fans and people who don’t yet know who the best band in the world is.
