‘Free Party’ w/DJ Kasper Marott & VJ sillou.8

We open the doors to the raging Free Party movement of the 90s and welcome film director Aaron Trinder to Copenhagen for an introductory Q&A about the making of the film and the fascination with the creative and radical energy of the underground movement.

After the screening of ‘Free Party’ in Absalon’s main hall, we clear the room and fill it with electronic tunes and spacy spiral visuals.

Kasper Marott will start the dance floor from 23:00-24:00, after which Absalon’s own DJ Thomas Tvivleren will take over with electro and techno. VJ sillou.8 will provide trippy visuals so we can dance the night away in true British rave style!

Since Kasper Marotts debut in 2014, he has time and again shown his ability to produce ecstatic yet reflective tracks with a clear voice. With his highly refined taste across genres, he has also proven to be a unique talent as a DJ – his ear for the percussive elements of music is of a rare kind, and his DJ sets glide effortlessly between moods, tempos and styles. 

 

In 2018, he released his breakthrough EP on Modeselektor’s Seilscheibenpfeiler label. The euphoric title track Keflavik set clubs and festivals alight throughout the year and was named “one of the biggest club records of the year” by Resident Advisor.

 

Together with his friend Alfredo92, Kasper has launched the community-based label Axces in 2019, which focuses on the music that comes out of their close-knit network of artists from Copenhagen. Axces has been a place for more exotic versions of house and techno on the Danish scene, mainly influenced by 90s trance/techno. 

 

On Full Circle, his debut album (2021, Axces), Marott continues to push the boundaries of techno.

 

Silje Andersen is a digital artist. She connects art and technology through her visual work and creates installation art and audiovisual performances. Under the artist name sillou.8, she creates live visuals for concerts, events and nightclubs and also exhibits individual – interactive – installation works.
