Exhibition: Turning points: 75 years of human rights

The Danish Institute for Human Rights has created a photographic narrative of human rights progress to mark the 75th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights to show their relevance in a time when human rights are under pressure and, more than ever, up for discussion.

 

The exhibition takes you on a journey from the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, through time, across borders, continents and themes, to political diplomacy, activism and popular outcry.

 

Through themes – selected by a jury of human rights experts – the photo exhibition presents an exciting and easy-to-understand visualisation of how human rights have been a crucial tool for creating tangible change. Under the themes: Discrimination, Civil and Political Rights, Children, Torture and Violence, and Social, Economic and Cultural Rights, 3-5 photographs have been selected, each telling the story of a specific milestone.

 

The exhibition has been prepared by a project team at the Danish Institute for Human Rights, in partnership with Ritzau/Scanpix, UNDP and UN City in Nordhavn.
