The frontman of the successful Danish band Ganger writes an album based on his parents' love letters, while rewriting his own life story in a charming and musical tale from the Danish West Coast.
The frontman of the successful Danish band Ganger, Thomas Bach, can’t remember his parents ever being affectionate with each other. He was five years old when they divorced. But when his father is dying, Thomas goes to windy North Jutland to look after him in his final days. His father gives him a stack of love letters from when his parents were newly in love and asks him to read them after his death. The letters are full of great emotion and testify that mum and dad were once happy together. Based on the letters, Thomas begins to write Gangers’ third album – an album that might also reconcile him with the mother he hasn’t had contact with for years. Together with his father’s old motorbike friends, the postman who delivered the love letters and the manager of the legendary local disco, Thomas begins to rewrite his own origins. And now it starts with a love story.
