Join the preview screening of ‘Mr. Nobody Against Putin’ – ADDITIONAL SCREENINGS
We’re celebrating the release of the full CPH:DOX 2025 program on February 27 with a preview screening of the critically acclaimed and timely documentary 'Mr. Nobody Against Putin' at Empire Bio in Copenhagen.
Monday 27th Jan 2025
The full program, featuring more than 200 documentary films, events, guests, parties, debates, concerts, and more, will be revealed as part of the CPH:DOX program launch on February 26. The following day, we invite you to a special premiere screening of the Sundance-featured Mr. Nobody Against Putin, already hailed as one of this year’s documentary sensations.
When Russia launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine, schools across the country were transformed into recruitment centers for the war. A courageous teacher faces the ethical dilemma of working in a system defined by propaganda and violence. In secret, he begins filming what’s really happening at the school where he teaches.
“Mr. Nobody Against Putin provides an utterly unique insight into the propaganda machine running at full speed (even) in Russian schools. The film is a prime example of how documentaries can transform distant, abstract headlines into something close, comprehensible, and deeply affecting, offering an entirely new understanding,”
says CPH:DOX Artistic Director Niklas Engstrøm.
“A must-watch, indelible document of ideological warfare that echoes far beyond Russia,”
Adrian Horton, The Guardian
“Talankin’s footage comes as a reminder of children as the innocent victims of war,”
Amber Wilkinson, Screen Daily
Following the screening, the film will set the stage for a conversation with Flemming Splidsboel Hansen, Senior Researcher at the Danish Institute for International Studies, about the film’s themes and the internal consequences of the war in Russia.
The film will not only be featured at CPH:DOX but will also be screened in numerous municipalities as part of DOX:DANMARK.
Mr. Nobody Against Putin was part of CPH:FORUM in 2023.
