A frank and generous portrait of the folk legend and activist with the incredible voice who, at the age of 82, continues to fight the good fight. A visual diary from a cultural icon.
+ Concert with CPH Folk Club
After the film there will be a concert where the experienced musician and co-founder of the Tønder Festival, Rod Sinclair, will take us into the musical universe of the protest songs and political music of Joan Baez's time. Rod has been singing and playing banjo and guitar on folk music stages all over the world and in Denmark since 1967. With him is double bassist Steffan Søgård Sørensen. The concert is spiced with anecdotes from the time and historical perspectives. Hear, for example, about the time Rod met Joan Baez in Canada. Arranged together with Copenhagen Folk Club og the Folk Music Archive in Tønder. Before the screening and concert you can enjoy a meal from 5:30pm.
