Meet Frihedsbrevet’s Editor-in-Chief Mads Brügger and podcast editor Thomas Arent live on stage as they present the premiere of their new crime documentary series ‘Dr No’.

There was no end to the applause when the partly Danish-owned biotech company Enochian Biosciences was listed on the prestigious US Nasdaq stock exchange in 2018. The share price was headed straight for the stars, and the mastermind behind it all was Turkish-born Serhat Gumrukcu. A man who was presented as a doctor, the biotech company’s top scientist and the genius who would ensure the company’s success. His ambition was to revolutionize the pharmaceutical industry with vaccines and treatments for a range of diseases, including HIV and cancer. But there was a problem. Serhat Gumrukcu was apparently neither a doctor nor a scientist. In reality, he is a Turkish magician with the stage name Doctor No, currently imprisoned in the United States on charges of orchestrating a brutal contract killing of a man who wanted to expose him. The premiere is in CPH:DOX’s own cinema at Kunsthal Charlottenborg, Social Cinema, and is on the first day of the festival. The premiere kicks off this year’s Podcasts Live program, and throughout the festival you can look forward to 16 unique live events.
