Exhibition at Kunsthal Charlottenborg, March 17 – August 6, 2023.

Opening event on March 17 at 17h00 in the presence of Jeremy Deller – free entranceKunsthal Charlottenborg and CPH:DOX present a solo exhibition by British artist Jeremy Deller. The exhibition brings together a wide range of works from the past 15 years, zooming in on different aspects of English culture. Through film, photography, graphic works and sculptural installations, Jeremy Deller paints a multifaceted and sometimes humorous portrait of English culture and explores different types of communities where people engage and come together for a collective cause. A film documents dedicated Depeche Mode fans from around the world, another shows fervent protesters campaigning for and against Brexit in front of Parliament in London. Other works go further back in history, including the Battle of the Somme during World War I, where the British army suffered heavy casualties, and archaeological finds from prehistoric times.The exhibition is curated by Henriette Bretton-Meyer and is presented in collaboration with CPH:DOX.Supported by the Augustinus Foundation, Det Obelske Familiefond, Danish Arts Council.
