TALK: DEN DYRISKE TIME X MICKEY GJERRIS

119 min

Billions of animals are killed in agriculture every year, but when the violent images of Faroese whaling hit screens around the world, the outrage has no end. How is it that the killing of some animals can stir such strong emotions in people when others cannot? What is so special about whales as a species? And is it at all a valid argument, that because farming kills animals every day, the Faroese can go on killing pilot whales in the name of tradition? Alexander Holm from Den Dyriske Time invites you for a chat about whaling and animal ethics, and is joined by bioethicist Mickey Gjerris.
