Netanyahu vs. the law: with director Alexis Bloom and law professor Astrid Kjeldgaard-Pedersen

After the film screening, we unfold the current charges from the International Criminal Court in conversation with law professor Astrid Kjeldgaard-Pedersen (University of Copenhagen).

Gaza is the top story in the media, and for good reason, but Netanyahu has other crises to worry about. As the fighting continues further south, “Bibi”, as his friends call him, is fighting a battle against his own state apparatus, which is charging his prime minister with misconduct and fraud. Netanyahu is accused of accepting gifts from businessmen – champagne, cigars and jewelry – in exchange for political favors and positive press coverage. The trials have been years in the making and some speculate that the war in Gaza has been prolonged so Netanyahu can temporarily escape serving up to 10 years in prison. After the film, we extend the conversation with director Alexis Bloom and law professor Astrid Kjeldgaard-Pedersen to get to the bottom of what Netanyahu risks in light of the new arrest warrant from the International Criminal Court.
