Iranian Night feat Googoosh-film + mini-concerts: Melodi Ghazal, Melisa Pour & Samara Bahrami
To coincide with the screening of the documentary about pop icon Googoosh, we celebrate the singer's music with a tribute concert.
Join us for an unforgettable evening filled with film, music and a party atmosphere! In honor of the film about the legendary Iranian pop icon Googoosh, we pay tribute to her with a live concert featuring three talented Danish-Iranian women on stage. First we screen the film ‘Googoosh – Made of Fire’. Afterwards you can experience Melisa Pour, Samara Bahrami and Melodi Ghazal interpret Googoosh’s most iconic songs. Melisa Pour brings her unique, multicultural sound, blending R&B, soul, Latin and Persian elements to her interpretations. Samara Bahrami and Morten Haugshøj, known from Sam & the Soulmates, will bring her Latin-influenced jazz sound to her interpretations. Finally, the activistic alternative pop-singer Melodi Ghazal will perform and end the evening with both his interpretations of Googoosh hits and his own songs. She has performed before at Roskilde Festival, Heartland Festival and has had a hit with a song fitting of tonight’s themes: ‘Fuck the System!’
