‘Facing War’: Diplomacy and foreign policy in a critical time
Meet former NATO Chief of Staff and star of the film, Stian Jenssen in conversation with the French Ambassador in Denmark, Christophe Parisot, the film's director, Tommy Gulliksen, and former Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Deputy Secretary-General at OECD, Ulrik Vestergaard Knudsen (CCAO, Netcompany) about diplomacy, balance of power and the challenges shaping the global agenda.
With the international legal system under pressure and geopolitical tensions rising, NATO is facing one of its greatest tests in recent times. The war in Ukraine and internal disagreements between the alliance’s 32 member states place enormous demands on diplomacy, leaving the question: How do you ensure stability in a world in turmoil? And how do diplomacy and the civil service work on cooperation and stability behind the scenes, while big politicians present themselves on the world stage?
We will try to answer these questions in a conversation after the movie. Learn more about power balances, global challenges, trade relations and diplomacy in times of crisis with Stian Jenssen, former Chief of Staff at NATO and star of the film, the French Ambassador in Denmark, Christophe Parisot, Ulrik Vestergaard Knudsen (CCAO, Netcompany), former Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Deputy Secretary-General at OECD, and director Tommy Gulliksen. The conversation will be moderated by Charlotte Flindt Pedersen, Director of The Danish Foreign Policy Society.
