22 short films and conversation about when war becomes everyday life in Gaza
Head of Communications at the Red Cross, Klaus Nørskov, introduces the film, which is followed by a conversation between psychologist Mustafa Yajousi and journalist and film director Nagieb Khaja. Also experience the VR works 'Sense and War' and 'If War Comes to You' after the screening.
After the screening, we invite you to a conversation about when war becomes everyday life. In collaboration with the Red Cross and the Palestinian Cultural Institute, we present ‘From Ground Zero – Untold Stories from Gaza’ in Social Cinema, an anthology film consisting of 22 short films created by 22 artists and documentary filmmakers in Gaza, in the midst of and during the war. The films are both fiction and documentary, but that line is blurred by the intervening sound of drones and fighter jets flying right above the heads of the population. War is present both in the imagination and in the most everyday things – like charging your phone. After the film, we invite you to a conversation between Palestinian psychologist Mustafa Yajousi and journalist and filmmaker Nagieb Khaja about trauma and the under-reported, everyday challenges of war. The film will be introduced by Klaus Nørskov, Head of Communications at the Red Cross, and afterwards you can experience the VR works ‘Sense of War’ and ‘If War Comes to You’ in front of the cinema at Kunsthal Charlottenborg, presented by the Red Cross.
