Join us on 23 April for an introduction to the CPH:LAB projects and a discussion on the next steps for cultural renewal.

As the participants of our CPH:LAB 2020/2021 are ready to present their works to the world at CPH:DOX’s Inter:Active programme, we are for the first time holding a Symposium that takes a look at the cultural landscape they are about to emerge into.

While in 2020 we were all focused on the present and how to deal with the existential crises presented by the pandemic, the arts community can now start to think again about what the future may offer.

On April 23, from 3-7 p.m CET, the INTER:ACTIVE SYMPOSIUM is inviting artists, filmmakers, futurologists, technologists, psychologists and social commentators to investigate what determines the creation and consumption of media in the coming years.

We will kick off with the CPH:LAB participants. Each team will present their project, produced over the past six months, and point to how it can be experienced as part of the Inter:Active programme at CPH:DOX. We will also hear from Viken Filmsenter in Norway, who has been studying the online LAB process ahead of publishing a report that will offer insights and best practice to the wider industry.

As we launch the call for entries to the next CPH:LAB we will get festival goers thinking about the role they will have to play in the developing cultural landscape.

The Symposium is curated and hosted by Mark Atkin, Head of Studies at CPH:LAB and curator of the CPH:DOX Inter:Active.

It is accessible to all accredited guests and will be followed by the immersive experience Sonic Cellumonials created by the artist duo Baum & Leahy, Sofie Birch and Greg Orrom Swan.
