TALK: IT'S NOT YOUR LIFE YOU HATE, IT'S CAPITALISM
What does it take for you to put yourself and your needs before your workplace? In the context of the screening of the documentary ‘The Happy Worker’, this conversation will focus on the exploitation that underlies ‘burnouts’, a phenomenon increasingly seen in the labour market where growth and performance are prioritised over individual well-being. With a desire from the Youth Editorial Board to focus on the employer and its policies rather than the individual, the perspective of the talk will be anti-capitalist and revolve around Marxism, activism and working conditions in non-academic industries. All in the hope that we can reflect on how we organise our labour markets and lives. Meet moderator and journalist at Politiken Laura Aller Jónasdóttir, writer Søren Mau, councillor for the Unity Party Sinem Demir and Youth Editor’s own Tjarli Simone Majumdar Selvig.
