October 1943. You are in a rowboat with Josef, fleeing Denmark across the dark waters of the Sound. Together you travel inside his mind through fragmented recollections of the night he escaped.

‘End of Night’ is an evocative VR experience that takes you on a journey through the darkest memories of Josef – a Danish refugee who fled Nazi-occupied Copenhagen in 1943. You find yourself in a rowboat, face to face with Josef. Together you sail across the Sound and through a landscape of fragmented recollections. As a witness to his personal escape story, you sense his trauma and the guilt he feels over having survived – when those he loved were left behind. ‘End of Night’ is a unique VR experience presented in Daniel Libeskind’s sensuous and overwhelming architecture at the Danish Jewish Museum.
