For the sixth year running CPH:FORUM and Eurimages are very proud to present the Eurimages Co-Production Development Award of €15.000 for the best pitch of this year’s CPH:FORUM.
This year’s jury, consisting of Tamara Tatishvili, Eurimages Representative, Gabor Greiner, Head of Acquisitions at Films Boutique, and David Herdies, Producer and Founder of Memento Film, singled out ‘Four Brothers’ directed by Peter-Jan de Pue and produced by Vincent Metzinger as winner of Eurimages Co-Production Development Award 2019. 25 projected competed for the award.
On their motivation for choosing ‘Four Brothers’, the jury said:
“The award goes to a project that impressed us by its integrity and powerful cinematic language and a strong creative team with a proven track record. This project gives a contemporary look on the impact and the harshness of belonging and isolation within a family in a war situation.”
‘Four Brothers’ tells a story of four Eastern Ukrainian brothers who chose to fight on opposite sides when the conflict erupted in 2014. ‘Four Brothers’ will reveal the impacts of war on a family and on one’s search for identity.
The winner was announced Thursday March 28 at a reception at Kunsthal Charlottenborg, Copenhagen.
