Sign up to be a volunteer at CPH:DOX 2017 and help us make the best festival in the world! The next edition of the festival takes place from March 16 – 26, and depending on your wishes and experience, you can take on various types of assignments and tasks at the festival. Please note that we expect at least 10 hours of volunteering at CPH:DOX.

There’s also the possibility to become a Superdoxer!

As a Superdoxer you can take on heavier assignments and become a bigger part of our teams in the different departments. We expect 30 hours of volunteering before and during the festival, and in return you will receive a letter of reference as well as even more free tickets.

As a volunteer at our venues, you will be a part of the daily operation of the festivals own venues.
Here, you’ll get close to both the audience as well as the films, concerts and event that take place during the festival. Your main tasks will be selling and checking tickets.

CPH:INDUSTRY creates the foundation for filmmakers, distributors, production companies and much more to meet from across nations in the name of documentary.
We need volunteers to make sure that our high profile guests receives the best possible experience during their stay.
We seek people who are serviceminded, have good team-skills, speaks fluent English, are organised and punctual as well as solution-oriented, presentable, kind but also professional.Your main tasks as a volunteer will be, to hand our water bottles or lunch packages, go around with the microphone during Q&A’s or checking accreditation.

In Marketing you will be helping us with distribution of our marketing materials – primarily our Programme but also smaller booklets, posters and the like.
This can be done walking, on your bicycle or in a car depending on the route you’ll be assigned.
In addition we need help with handing out and take in ballots for all the film screenings that are nominated for Politikens Publikumspris. (You can watch the films to on these shifts as long as the screening hasn’t sold out).
To develop the festival and getting to know our audience better, we also need volunteer interviewers who can help getting respondents for our user survey – so if you like talking to new people and perhaps a bit curious, then you’d be perfect for the task.
A couple of weeks before the festival start we need people to reach out to different companies and organizations by phone or email to find potential audiences. For this task we are looking for Danish speaking volunteers with good communication skills. You need to bring your own laptop.

With Festival, you’ll be involved in the practical part of the festivals many and diverse events that spans from film screenings on alternative locations to debates, receptions and parties – and much more. Festival also includes our Kids & Youth department which focuses on bringing documentaries to a younger audience also in regards to education.
You’ll often be in direct contact with the festivals international guests, the audience and also important industry partners. You main tasks will be to check tickets, usher people to there place or help visitors with the technical equipment of the VR-installation.

The Print Coordination is responsible for the distribution of films to cinemas, both before and during the festival. Your primary assignment is to make sure that the particular films, that are being screened during the festival, are delivered to the cinemas before the screening. For this task it is important that you have a driving license and that you are organized and responsible. These shifts are usually in pairs and you will have a lot of time to get to know your fellow volunteers better.

The Guest Department receives all the festival guests, film directors and industry professionals and takes care of their accreditation and accommodation during their stay in Copenhagen. Right from when they arrive in the airport till they check out again.
During the festival our Info Desk will be situated at Kunsthal Charlottenbrog and there will also be a Guest Desk at our festival hotels.
We strive to give our guests and volunteers a warm and personal experience during CPH:DOX. We are looking for people who are able to help out a great deal at the festival. As a volunteer in Guest Service you’ll will manage great responsibilities and will be included in a competent and dynamic team who are dedicated to offer an exceptional service.

The Production department is responsible for the technical setup of the festival. The tasks that you will be handed as a volunteer consists primarily of physical and practical tasks and often deals with moving our technical gear off/on stages or in/out of venues, etc.
It is a plus if you have previously dealt with production but not a must.
The tasks can be very varying since the production-plan sometimes changes in regards to planning. Therefore flexibility is highly appreciated! For us it is important that you can receive instructions, react fast without stressing and handle pressured situations with a smile. Please note that volunteering in production often goes on early in the morning or late in the evening.

DOX:ON:TOUR is an initiative launched by CPH:DOX with the purpose of spreading the Copenhagen documentary film festival over the whole of Sealand and Northern Jutland.
The festival will come to different high schools, local venues and host events, debates and much more. As a volunteer for DOX:ON:TOUR, you will become the face of CPH:DOX.
YOU will go to these venues, sometimes alone, to present and introduce films as well as moderate debates and Q&A’s on behalf of CPH:DOX.
This means you should feel comfortable for large groups and take great responsibility.
