DR TALENT AWARD 2019
RULES AND REGULATIONS

DR Talent Award is CPH:DOX’ pitch competition for young, aspiring filmmakers, held in collaboration with DR (the Danish Broadcasting Corporation) and the Film Workshop.

The winner receives 25.000 DKK in production support from DR, ongoing professional guidance and the possibility to borrow professional production equipment from the Film Workshop. Depending on the final result of the production, the film might have the possibility of being broadcasted on one of DR’s platforms.

How to Participate

We encourage all young talents to apply; a background in filmmaking is not expected. The most important premise is that you got an original idea for a short documentary and a strong ambition to bring it to life.

To submit a project to the DR Talent Award, these criteria must be fulfilled:

  • You are a Danish resident
  •
Your submitted project is in development; it is not permitted to submit a finished production
  • The target group of your project is the 15-35 year olds
  •
The project can be thought for SoMe, streaming or TV, but the finished product should not exceed 28 minutes
  • Your level of ambition is realistic in terms of completing the documentary within a year and the ressources allocated through the award
  • You are able to participate in the Pitch-event during CPH:DOX March 25th 2019

Six projects will be selected for a final pitch round at CPH:DOX 2019. In the selection process the jury are especially keen on projects that are fit for DR3’s profile. This might entail stories that are told with bold honesty, that shows curiosity, gives an insight to unknown worlds or who challenges the traditional limits of the documentary genre.
