50/50 - gender balance at CPH:DOX

CPH:DOX works to create a better gender balance in the film industry giving women the same possibilities as men.

Therefore, in 2019 we signed the ‘5050×2020’ pledge, which aims to increase the number of female professionals at film festivals. By signing the pledge, we promise to strive for equal gender representation and transparency across our management, selection committee and participating filmmakers.

At the time of writing, the gender composition at CPH:DOX is as follows:
Managing Director: Female
Artistic Director: Male
Board: 5 females / 2 males
Selection Committee: 4 females / 4 males

Below you can see the gender composition amongst the directors in CPH:DOX’s competition programme the past three years. Some of the competition films have both female and male directors, these titles are listed in the last column.
